Beautiful Bouquet

My sweet friend, co-worker and downline made this for me for Administrative Professionals Day.  Didn't she do a beautiful job?  See Cassie's blog for more on this project.  She also has a photo of the matching card she made and a photo of us together at work on her blog.  :)
I am blessed to work with the best ladies doing such amazing work!

Embossed Hello, Doily

I just love this beautiful card.  I used it for a class I taught and also for my monthly DL card exchange.
The Hello, Doily stamp is embossed with White Embossing Power on Early Espresso Cardstock. In person, it looks like an actual doily is on the card.  I used the back side of the Chocolate Chip Scallop Dots Ribbon and Comfort Cafe DSP for the pleats.
I cased the layout from Elizabeth Price.  Below are her excellent directions about how to make the pleat.  It takes a little practice and patience, but once you figure it out, it's pretty simple, and so worth it!

Here's how you make the Box Pleats for a 4 1/4" wide card:
  • Cut a strip of designer paper or cardstock 1.5” x 9”.
  • Using the Simply Scored Tool, score the strip at 1”, 1.25”, 2”, 2.25”, 3”, 3.25”, 4”, 4.25”, 5”, 5.25”, 6”, 6.25”, 7”, 7.25”, 8”, and 8.25”.
  • Fold on the scorelines by folding the first score back and the second forward, then the third score should fold forward and the fourth should fold back.  Repeat this pattern to form the box pleats.
  • Attach pleats in place with Sticky Strip.
  • Align folded pleats on card front, adhere to card, and trim sides where needed.

Create a Cupcake Pop-Up

Welcome to the monthly Ladybug ink. Blog Hop.  This month it's all about birthdays.
This card is one of the projects we did at my Technique Club this week.  We learned the
Simple Pop-Up Technique.  Easy technique, super putzy, but super cute card.

Here's the inside of the card.  What a fun surprise for the birthday recipient.
Three of these colors are retiring. :(  Get them today.  They are going fast!
Retired colors only available while supplies last.

Interested in coming to my technique club?  It's the second Tuesday of each month, and we have a blast.  They got a good laugh out of me this week.  I've had bad allergies this month.  On Tuesday I thought my medicine had stopped working.  I was really loopy.  The stamping demonstration was....interesting to say the least.  Well, it turns out you aren't supposed to take an antihistamine long term without also taking a decongestant.  Apparently it gives you a sinus infection.  I'm so miserable I finally broke down and used that drowning torture device to flush out my sinuses.  Hoping to avoid urgent care and antibiotics.  I have to admit that it's helping.  I improved enough to get this post up.  :)

Below is the link to a fantastic template to help you recreate this card:

Paper Pumpkin Bliss

Here is my middle daughter, Ruby, in her Paper Pumpkin bliss.  She had been checking the mail every day in anticipation of her kit arriving.  Joining Paper Pumpkin has made her feel so special.  She felt even more special the night of my Paper Pumpkin Pajama Party.  I had each place set with the supplies for the extra project for the evening.  When she found out she could pick a spot, she said, "I feel so special!"  It's been so fun sharing this with her.  We are both eager to see what surprises our next kit holds!  Join Paper Pumpkin now to not miss a moment of the fun!

Stampin' Up! Color Refresh

Thanks to Erica Cerwin for this awesome graphic!

Color Refresh Announcement from SU!
Announcing our Color Refresh! We love color and we know that you do too. Color is fundamental to who we are and what we offer. It's important for us to stay up-to-date with color trends so we are thrilled to share our updated line of colors, and hope you will be as excited as we are by the new possibilities!
Why now? In 2010 we did a big color renovation and shared our plans for smaller color refreshes every three to five years to keep our colors on trend. Well it has been three years and we are excited to announce that the upcoming 2013-2014 annual catalog will include 10 new colors (most of which are returning In Colors from previous years)! We are welcoming back some of your favorites, moving some colors around, and introducing one brand-new color, so take a look!
Beginning on April 4, 2013, all retiring/discontinued color products (i.e. ink, paper, ribbon, accessories, etc.) will be available only while supplies last. This means that some products will not be available through the retired list period. We did anticipate increased demand and based our forecasts for these retiring colors on historical sales information from previous color transitions. However, even with the most careful planning, the response to a transition of this nature can surprise everyone. All of our retiring color products are only available while supplies last so get your favorites now and look forward to the exciting colors coming in the 2013-2014 annual catalog. And also, free shipping is going on April 6-8, 2013, which would be a great time for you to get your favorites before they are gone!

No Stop Lights, No Speed Limits....Raid the Clearance Rack online, order some card stock and ribbon, get those retiring colors and reinkers!
Through Monday get FREE SHIPPING from SU!  No minimum shipping charge (yahoo!) and no limitations.
You can even get hostess freebies if your order is over 150.00.
