What I Love

This is the second card from my Open House.
It uses the What I Love Sale-a-bration stamp set.

I love the delicate images in this set.
Each flower is made using three different stamps.
Because the stamps are clear, they are easy to line up.

The highlights on the flowers were made using
I love how beautiful and easy this paint is to use!

Flowering Fields

This is the first card we made at my Open House.
I adapted a card that is on the front of the Sale-a-bration catalog.
On Crumbcake cardstock, we embossed images from
Flowering Fields Sale-a-bration stamp set.
We then used markers to color the images.
You can get this stamp set free with a $50 order.

Open House - Door Prizes and Sausage Rolls

A big thank you to all who attended my

I enjoyed having each of you here!
Each stamper received a goodie bag with new items from the

By far, the favorite treat I served were
Sausage Rolls.
I promised to post the recipe, so here it is!

Sausage Rolls
Ingredients:
1 can refrigerated crescent rolls
1 pound sausage (I prefer maple flavor)
8 ounce cream cheese, softened
1 teaspoon dry mustard
1/2 teaspoon dill
2 tablespoons chopped onion
Cook sausage, then mix with cream cheese, dry mustard, dill and onion.
Roll out crescent roll into one rectangle.  Spoon mixture across dough and roll it up.
Chill in fridge for 30 minutes.
Slice and bake at 350 degrees for about 20 minutes, until golden brown.

Check back this week for the cards we made!

Faux Paper Piecing

This month at Tuesday Tea and Techniques we learned
Faux Paper Piecing.

I love the new
They are available individually or as a bundle at 15% off.

This technique is so simple.  The die does all the work for you.
Once you die cut the flower from your card base,
you attach a piece of DSP to the back,
then add the flower outline to the front using
the fabulous Fine-Tip Glue Pen.
These intricate dies are a breeze to work with when using
the indispensable Precision Base Plate.
I can't begin to tell you what a difference this tool makes!!
Here is a version of the card using a
contrasting color of cardstock.

My daughter, Ruby, included some actual paper piecing in her project.

She used some of the pieces she had die cut from pink cardstock.

Frosted Diamonds Technique

This was the card from last month's Tuesday Tea and Techniques
called Frosted Diamonds.
I cased this idea from Jenny Day.

This is such a stunning, wintery look!
You start by rubbing an ink pad over an embossing folder.
Next, you emboss your piece of cardstock with the inked embossing folder.
Then you run a Versamark pad across the surface of your cardstock,
pour Heat & Stick powder across the entire surface and tap off excess,
heat, then pour Dazzling Diamonds glitter across the surface,
tap off excess and heat again.
The tree and sky look coated in wintery frost.
The trees outside our house looked just like this last week!
