Christmas Card Stamp-a-stack.

When: Friday, December 4th, 6PM-9PM
and/or Saturday, December 5th, 9AM-Noon
Cost: $20
Please bring adhesive and scissors.
RSVP deadline with payment: Nov. 27th.
For Friday's class, register here:
You can also pay me directly with cash or check by Nov. 27th.

At this month's Tuesday Tea and Techniques we learned Ombre Resist.
It is two techniques I combined for beautiful results.
On Shimmery White Cardstock, we embossed the snowflakes with clear embossing powder.
We then brayed Rich Razzleberry and Blackberry Bliss ink over the entire cardstock,
starting with the lighter ink on one end and working toward the darker ink.
We then used a slightly damp tissue to rub the ink off the embossed images
and to work the ink into the cardstock.

As much as I love how this card turned out,
I loved the time sipping tea and chatting with my stamping friends even more!

Join us for next month's class.

Tuesday Tea and Techniques

Tuesday the 10th is my next Tuesday Tea and Techniques class at 6:30.
Last month we learned the Shaving Cream Technique.
This pretty and fun technique is so easy, and
the color combinations are limitless.
In a tray or a styrofoam plate, spread out some shaving cream.
Drop several drops of reinkers from three different colors.
The colors I choose are coordinating, but they don't have to be.
With a skewer, swirl the ink slightly.
Press a sheet of cardstock onto the surface.
Carefully lift up and wipe off ink and shaving cream.
You are left with incredible, unique patterns.

This was our completed project using the new set
Lighthearted Leaves.

Join me next Tuesday for a new technique!

Ladybug ink. Morning

Last month we had my downline meeting.  It's always fun to get together
to stamp and share with fellow demonstrators!
These were some of the door prizes.

I punched the tops with Scalloped Tag Topper Punch (133324).
Inside was a roll of Washi Tape attached with a glue dot.
These were so simple and easy to make.

Also in the door prize basket were stacks of the new
Timeless Elegance DSP (138444). So gorgeous!!

This adorable box was one of the Make & Takes.
It uses the Curvy Keepsake Box Thinlits (135853).
I cased this from Lydia at Understand Blue.

This was my card exchange.
It uses the beautiful new stamp Definitely Dahlia (129911).

This monochromatic card used the new In Color Hello Honey.

Here was our second Make & Take.

Photopolymer Stamp Storage

I love Stampin' Up's Photopolymer stamps.
I wasn't loving having to peel them off the
printed plastic sheet they come on
every time I stamp with them.

(Inside of Box)
I saw a video on Youtube that solves this problem.

(Back of box)
Just slide the printed sheet between the hard case
and the plastic sleeve on the outside of the box.
Adhere the four corners with glue dots.
Make sure you attach the sheet facing the right direction.
Now the stamps are attached directly to the storage case,
and the printed images still shows through.
So much easier to peel on and off!
This simple tip is saving me time and frustration!

Dab and Splash Technique

I learned this technique from my downline Ruth Norton.
She learned it from the online video tutorial by
Lydia does a great job of explaining this technique and I love the colors she used.
Neither Ruth nor Lydia had a name for this technique.
I was calling it sponge and spritz, but at my Tuesday Tea and Techniques Class
I asked the stampers for ideas for a better name.
I think it was my mom that came up with the name I adapted to
Dab and Splash.
You dab three coordinating colors with sponges,
then you spritz the card with water.
The bonus technique on the leaf is
Rock 'n Roll.
You ink the stamp in one color,
then roll it around a darker, coordinating color so
just the edges get inked.

This is the card Ruth made with this technique at our last meeting.
The richness of the colors is fabulous!
And look at that black glitter paper.

Over the weekend, I heard someone say,
"A day without glitter is like a day without sunshine."
I love that!!  Never mind that it came from a male, lawyer/musician
that just may have been being slightly sarcastic.
It's a great saying none the less!

I will offer Tuesday Tea and Techniques the second Tuesday of each month.
I hope to see you next month.
